Friday Favorites {{8.14.15}}

Etsy Faves:

These mugs from Farmhouse Printables are amazing! I really want them to have at work, since I keep a stash of teabags in my desk.

Kalligraphy makes some super cute printables that are great for any room! I really want the Make More Adventures print for my office, I think the kids would love it!

Fave Online Find:

Buy Me Brunch  has some of the best tees and tanks that you will find anywhere! They have a great variety of tops, so you're not gonna get a site filled with tanks or mens t-shirts. I especially love the slouchy sweatshirts.

Fave Tutorial:

Hello Natural has the quickest, easiest tutorial for a classy hairstyle. The best part? When you take your hair down it is in gorgeous, natural waves. I love to pair it with a headband that has a little bling on it for day 2 hair!

Fave Budget Make-Up Find:

If you haven't tried e.l.f. contouring kits you are definitely missing out. I already love their blush & bronzing powder duo, so I had to try the blush and bronzer contouring CREAM! It is amazing, lasts all day, blends well, and has build able color. The best, most amazing thing? It's only $3!

What are you all loving on right now?

Friday Favorites

Things are pretty low key around this way. I'm wrapping up summer vacation and starting to prepare for getting back in the groove of work. I met one of my new principals this week, finding out that the storage half of my room will be removed and I will have an entire room this year! YAY! On that happy note, here are some of the things I've been crushing on lately.

Fave etsy Finds
As the Royals season goes on, I always start to want new Royals bling. Just to torture myself, I looked up things on etsy.  Want. All. The. Things.

Fave Song

DJ Snake and Aluna George -"You Know You Like It"

I love just about anything by DJ Snake, so this is my jam and on repeat.

Fave TV Show

Ya'll if you haven't watched this show, I think it's def worth it. It's funny in the "WTF that is exactly like my life" way, not the scripted kind of funny. That and in one of the episodes Leah and her family discuss their leaving Scientology, in another how Leah doesn't look at her vagazzle & doesn't let her hubs either, and yet another about how she goes to therapy.  How much more real does that get?! Worth an hour of your life, swear.

Fave Recipe

I totally adapted this Brown Butter Gnocchi recipe to fit my needs. And by that I mean I used store bought gnocchi, added protein (chicken), and took out the cheese. But other than that, totally the same recipe. It was delish.

Fave Purchase

This shirt doesn't look amazing in this picture, but it fits perfect and the gold foil dots are slightly vintagey faded looking. It dresses up cute shorts and the neckline looks great with a statement necklace. Bonus? On sale for 9.99 and you can use whatever Kohls coupons you have.

Friday Faves: Beach Ready Edition {{6.12.15}}

I know, I know nobody gives a shit that I am going to Cancun next week. But, you know what? I care, so there it is (yeah, I'm giving you all the stank eye). I care because I haven't been on a vacation in 2 years and this is going to be mine and G's honeymoon trip we never had. And by that I mean we are going to do all the stuff we planned to do, but his family will be there and so will 50 of his sisters closest friends. So, in continuing the theme, here are my beach ready Friday Favorites.

Fave Online Workouts: I know that I go back to these a lot, but you guys Cassey Ho at Blogilates does some of the best workouts videos I have seen AND THEY ARE FREE! They are easy to follow, she cues well, and her voice isn't (too) annoying. These below are my favorite on days where I don't have a class at the community center and I do them then ride my elliptical while watching Scandal or Law & Order SVU on Netflix.

Fave Beauty Product: I'm going with self tanner on this one. Self tanner for the win! My personal favorite self-tanning lotion is Banana Boat Endless Summer. It goes on easily, doesn't streak, doesn't smell too horrible, and has no glitter. The color shows up within three hours of application. My other, more expensive, favorite is Versa Spa 360 Spray. Versa Spa is the brand of spray tanning booth that they use at all my local tanning salons. I figured rather than paying out the ass for a single spray tan, why not let G spray me and get 3 sprays out of it?

Fave Recipe: If you are looking for a healthy, cool, refreshing summer recipe this is it! The Grilled Chicken Tzatziki Salad from I Heart Nap Time is a recipe I used to keep my calories in check to be bikini ready. I used kalamata olives from our gourmet olive bar at the bougey grocery store, but other than that didn't change a thing. In the future, I will add fresh dill for a bolder flavor in the tzatziki, but it was definitely better than sore bought. Again, SUPER EASY!

Fave Clothing: Ya'll know I had to buy stuff for this vacation, so I had to make it worth it. I tried to buy items that were beach perfect, but also reusable for for the rest of summer.

If you've got big tata's these two swim tops are for you! The one in black in white is super supportive and has lots of support. I plan to use it to snorkel with killer whales. I also plan to buy more of this bralette style. The halter below is super, duper flattering as well! It comes in cup sizes, has full support and makes the girls look amaze. So much so, I now own that top in 2 colors. Bonus- almost everything is on super sale right now at Victoria's Secret!

Friday Favorites {{5.8.15}}

This week wasn't too bad, I took Tuesday off for a PMS day. I knew I needed it when a 1st grader asked to play the Grouchy Lady Bug game because I was being cranky. Hint received, 1st grader, hint received. In order to cheer myself up, I spent the day running errands, Pinteresting, shopping for my SIL's bridal brunch this Saturday, and sleeping in.

Favorite Beauty Pins: I still love Pinterest, even if the pins are starting to get redundant. I feel like I've seen sooooo many of the same things over and over again. All of these are pinned to my  Pinterest on my boards.

I wear this outfit constantly, but never with pumps or a blazer. Now, I will def add that!

I have been loving everything crochet lately, including these shorts. Having the inspiration for how to wear them is bonus!
I love wearing my black maxi skirt EVERYWHERE and having this pin has helped inspire me to wear it in many more ways. I love to wear it with my sports t-shirts, chambray tied in a knot or tucked in, and with basic tees. I am still intimidated by loose shirts.

Three ways to style a long bob by Refinery 29 is awesome! Since cutting my hair, I am looking for ways to style my hair again and having 3 ways to style in 3 days is a Hallelujer moment!

The Buzzfeed article on 41 Life-Saving Beauty Hacks is sooo good! There are some that are duh and others that made me go doh, I should have thought of that!

Fave Purchase: This skirt from Maurice's... Although since I bought it when on my period, it doesn't fit now that I am not a PMS bloated heffer. So, I love it and want to wear it but it doesn't fit.

Fave Recipes: I bought miso for the Copy Cat Panera Soba Bowl recipe, then wanted to use it ON ALL THE THINGS! These two recipes are too legit and healthy!

How was your week?

Friday Favorites {{5.1.15}}

As I've been looking at things to take to Mexico in June, I've have discovered some things that I am truly digging on. So, my Friday Favorites is dedicated to a Mexican vacation this week!

Fave Beach Looks: These are items I wish I could afford and would love to have! I really wish the dress was in my budget, because I think it would be perfect for my SIL's beach wedding (i.e. the reason we are going to Mexico). I  heart these one piece bathing suits, because they look so cute and trendy, but at the same time camouflage trouble areas.

Fave Beauty Item:  My favorite item to make me beach ready is hands down this self-tanner. Banana Boat has it going on for a natural looking fake tan. I also like a good spray tan, but am not willing to pay that much, since getting in the ocean wipes it off. With this lotion, I can just re-apply that evening with no one the wiser.

Fave Beach Ready Recipe: I get down on smoothies for breakfast and my ABSOLUTE favorite recipe is a Berry, Spinach, Pineapple smoothie. It reduces belly fat, provides antioxidants, and makes me regular (TMI, I know). I try to use all fresh ingredients when I can, but frozen works too. If using all fresh, throw a few ice cubes in for a good consistency. I also love strawberry/pineapple at night (with no protein powder) for a tart, cool treat.
My recipe:
handful spinach (or kale)
1/2 cup pineapple
1/2-1 cup blueberries (or a berry blend)
approx 3/4 cup Almond Coconut milk (to the top of the fruit)
1/2 scoop protein powder- we use ON in the vanilla or cake batter flavor

Blend and enjoy!

Fave Vacation Songs: These songs always put me in the beach mood. I have loved them forever and can't even tell you the first time that I heard them.

Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffett

Escape (The Pina Colada Song) by Rupert Holmes

Fave Airport Reading: I love to take magazines with me to the airport and leave them for other people to read. If I found magazines for free while waiting I would be ecstatic! People and US Weekly are my fave magazines to have with me, I usually carry a few of each and start stocking up a few weeks early.

What are some of your beach ready faves? Or, if you know where I can find an affordable dress for a beach wedding, let me know below!

Friday Favorites {{4.10.15}}

Whew, this week has been a doozy. Really glad it's FriYAY! Ya'll know I plan to get down on it (sing it with me!) with some margs right after work.

So, what are some of my faves, other than the weekend, you ask? Here you go!

Fave Tutorial (found via Pinterest, duh): Super easy (read: anyone could actually do it), customizable, and functional!

Fave song: If you haven't heard TechN9ne then here is an introduction to him. He is a KC rapper who has his own record label, Strange Music. He reps everything KC, MO with no shame. If you are confused by some of the lyrics and need an interpreter, here is a good site.

Fave Online Purchase(s): I had a $100 Secret Reward Card to Victoria's Secret, so I picked out some bathing suits to take with me to Mexico this summer. I picked out two bottoms and three tops and paid $28 out of pocket, which covered shipping and taxes. Essentially, as free as you can get. Hopefully, everything fits. I read every single review I could find. The middle picture is the not the correct color, but other than that these are exactly what I am getting. My goal was to be able to mix and match every piece.

Fave Picture: This saying, just add some deep breathing and you're set to go!

Fave Funnies (all on my pinterest):

(or if you're me selling your shoe for monopoly money)
