There is so much that I am thankful for this year. This year has been filled with ups, downs, and everything in between. This year has been a learning year, filled with the people closest to me. This year, I've...

...had the pleasure of marrying my best freind
...planned a wedding, which took more than a little support from family and friends
...had a car blow up and had family and friends help us every step of the way during that time
...helped my boo thang through a major surgery, with his family supporting us every day
...gotten moved around at work, which led to meeting new and amazing people because of it
...fixed the house up so much, with tons of help from our family
...seen friends have babies and get married
...spent time with family and friends, sharing innumerable fun times (and bottles of wine)

What You Love Link-Up

Tia from Hands on. Pants off. has started a new link up. It is to promote positivity out here in the blog world. I.e. people get all Mean Girls and go burn book style on bloggers and it can make you feel like crap. So, enter in the Promote What You Love Link-Up. It's all rainbows and sunshine. No joke. Obviously, I got to throw Tia out there. I mean girl decided to bust balls and put this link-up together because of some douche-lords who make people feel like crap. Tia is legit. She puts it all out there, all the while drinking a cocktail. It doesn't hurt that she has a big ol English bulldog, who reminds me of the boxers.  I'm also going to share with you a blog that I love to creep on, just because this bitch is mad feisty and is always saying what's on her mind. She doesn't have a picture or button up for me to post...so all you get is a link. Kathy over at Vodka and Soda is one of my main reads. She always says the things that I wish I could and lives life with no fucks given. Which is how we all should live. She also hosts the Humpday Confessions link-up that is my favorite link-up. As much as I love to see crock-pot recipes and how to wear a plaid scarf link-ups, I get down on hers. Happiness Is...

What are some things that just make you happy? I always think about all the things I love to do when the weather starts getting better. Nice weather just makes you feel better-- about yourself and life.

Some things that make me feel good no matter what are:

• Porch Drinking I adore sitting on the back porch, in a beer garden, on a patio and drinking beer, wine, sangria, whatever! I love eating dinner on patios at restaurants and sitting by fire pits. If I can be out with the dogs while doing this even better! So far, I haven't found anywhere but my own backyard that allows this. If anyone knows anywhere in the KC area that allows dogs on their patio let me know. During the winter, I like to invite my friends over to couch drink, which is the indoor version of porch drinking :) 

• Tailgating going to ball games and grilling on our little crappy portable grill is the best! It's like porch drinking, but different. Here is the camaraderie of everyone wearing their team gear and being excited to see the opening pitch or doing the 7th inning stretch together. If you are lucky you may even win the Tailgate of the game! I have never had this happen, but one day I will! I have goals in life and winning a $25 grocery gift card is one of them!

• Clean Sheets as simple as this sounds having clean, fresh sheets makes me feel soooo good. Like willing to do the nasty good, but then the sheets would be dirty, so that's a no. 

• Haircuts I love getting my hair did. It always makes me feel so good and my hair always feels amazing. My hair always has so much body and has the fresh and clean feel. I can never recreate the same look and feel, even when I use the same products.

• Presents I purple, sparkly heart love buying presents for people. I like looking for things that will make others happy. I like seeing their smiles and knowing that they like their gifts. Don't get me wrong, I also love to get presents. The anticipation of not knowing and being excited makes me happy too. Essentially, I love presents!

Christmas Glory

I am officially on Christmas Break. It is a much needed break from the kids (and adults) I work with. While I heart them lots and lots, sometimes it is hard to handle working in five different schools. As a special education social worker, I work with the 5-10% of students in each school that are considered to have the highest needs and I also have a self-contained program for students with developmental disabilities and severe behavior. I am all over the place every single day and love it, but it does get exhausting.

Sorry for the verbal vomit. What I actually wanted to talk to you about was Christmas Glory.My friend who lives in Oklahoma City and I love, love, love the Christmas season. I love how everyone gets peppy and festive. There seems to be hope and happiness in the air. Then, there are the Christmas lights! A few years ago, I went home with Jes to OKC and she took me to see this house. It is the most glorious creation of Christmas Glory I have ever seen!  She took me to see this six or seven years ago. I have never seen anything like it since. Well, yesterday she posted this picture on my facebook. It was a much needed reminder of how much I love and appreciate the holiday season. I want to be the person who does something like this, so I can give someone as much pleasure as this house gives me! My goal in life is to decorate my house like this just for the sheer pleasure and joy of it!
