What's Happening Now

I've been up to the most random things lately. We've gone to a few more Royals game and are hoping to get some post-season tickets (which would be Thursday and Friday of this week so far). 

Jen and I got some stuff signed by Moose (KC Royals 3rd basemen). I have to admit, for as much as he looks slightly chunky in his uniform, he looked totally white guy hottie normal in person.

We went to the last Saturday game with my Uncle and his lady. As always, G doesn't wear sunglasses and complains the sun in his eyes.

We literally sat in the last row... I thought we would faint from the change in altitude. 

The TV died while I was trying to watch the Royals game... so... 

We went and bought a new one. It's slightly larger and got wifi! Compared to my 2008 tv this is a huge upgrade! I can now play all the YouTube videos I want! 

This happened. 

I also had an unintentional ladies night. We had tickets to a USA soccer game... then realized it was the 23 and under team. Which we don't care about, so we stayed in and couch drank. We also had a Whip and Nae Nae dance party, which G filmed I just couldn't get the balls to put that on the internet. 

I also got 2 new curling wands from NuMe and wanted to try them out, so the girls let me play on their hair. If you want a review or tutorial let me know! Curling wands were a new venture for me, I just took the clip off one of my curling irons and called it good. 

Bae and I went to see Martian with Matt Damon in 3D. My thoughts? It was long and at least Tom Hanks had Wilson. Just sayin'. 

Tigger has been crazy lately and G managed to catch it on film. I don't even know how he manages to do all this crazy stuff, but I knew you guys would love it. If you've got any pets, do they have special powers? 

Not only do we have the craziest animals in our house, we have them outside as well. G is the squirrel whisperer and had this rabies infested creature crawling all over him. I didn't even know what to do with this.

My work has incentives for completing health related tasks, so I went and completed a biometric screening. For the first time I can remember, as an adult I am totally healthy in every aspect. My BMI (which I think is stupid) is fully in the healthy range, my cholesterol and blood pressure are good. I am all WOOT, WOOT let me sashay my skinny ass outta here!

I've been trying new recipes out the wazoo, but still using good old fave easy dinners to supplement in an effort to stay on budget. So, we have spag & turkey meatballs once a week, tacos of some sort once a week, and a few new recipes thrown in for fun. What are some of your go-to weeknight dinners?

I try to find any excuse to go to Costco, just because I love it so much. I bought a flannel shirt there and LOVE it! It is sooo soft, has pearl snap buttons, and fits well, but loose which I like for layering. Costco for the win! Do you have anything you can't live without at Costco?

I started watching the show WAGS and sometimes am a little ashamed of myself for actually DVRing that show it is so bad. No joke. All of these women seem to be desperately trying to be relevant.

This post literally has nothing to do with anything except for random stuff that has been going on. Feel free to mock me if you like, I'm judging me a little too that this is the most exciting stuff I have to talk about.

• Saturday, G and I went to the Royals game with a new couple that we met through his sister. For the first time ever in my life, I sat outside tailgating through an entire game. WHO IS THIS PERSON?! I missed the Royals win in the 10th inning, but stuffed my face with 2 kinds of kettle chips, jalapeño cheetos, and chips with dip. 

• I have been watching the Real Housewives of Orange County and all I can think is how much I dislike, yet love this show and living vicariously through their crazy... I thought I was going to like Megan, you know since she isn't 55... but nope, she's shallow, judgy, and stubborn. As much as I hate to say it, I agree with Vicki-- you don't have a job, so you should consult with the person who brings in the money. Shannon, you just need to stop being a victim. That puss bag you married cheated on you. Either kick his ass out or move on. Oh, and I'm back to loving Tamra. She is back with a vengeance. That's all. 

• This summer I have eaten worse than I imagined, but since I don't eat breakfast and eat a healthy dinner I have justified eating all the cheetos I want. Oh, and funyuns. 

• Yup, I just admitted to eating cheetos twice in one post. Real life, bitches. Real life. 
• I went to the cable place, in order to return our internet modem because we were mailed a new one and the return label that was sent with it said bill to sender upon receipt in the corner--- I took that to mean that if I returned it via the mail I would see a fee on my next bill. By the time I left the cable store, all my backhanded insults had gotten through and our bill is going down by $17/month, I got a new cable box where I now can DVR up to 6 channels at once and have 3x the storage, AND we got a different new internet modem because we got that upgraded even more. I felt like I had conquered the world. Then, I realized I still owe them way too much money every month.

Random Ways to Amuse Yourself

You ever have those days were you are wide awake, but bored out of your mind? I have them A LOT! I know there are things I should be doing, but I just don't want to. That pile of paperwork? meh. The laundry? boo. So what do I do instead?


Shake it fast! I like to turn on the music in my head and go dance on the Mr. He truly loves it, but tries to pretend like he doesn't. I really like to do it when he is intensely in the middle of something. That's when he likes it best.

 

Torture the dogs. The boxers only want it when I don't. So, the minute I want to hang out with them they run away and try to hide from me. They are such fickle creatures. I'm just trying to show them some love.

 

 

Find a Lifetime movie to watch. That shit is cray! Although, they are starting to get a little too deep now, has anyone attempted to watch Starving in Suburbia? Too much. Way too much. Don't do it. Watch True Tori instead. That shit is way more amusing.

 

 





Talk to yourself. While I know this sounds slightly cray cray, who knows you better than you? When having a conversation with yourself nobody gets mad, no feelings get hurt, and nobody is pissy if you don't follow through on a promise. Best conversation ever. The only bad part is that you are only hysterically funny when no one else is around, so people are missing out on this awesomeness.

5 Ways I am a Hoarder

Have you ever watched that show Hoarders? If you haven't you probably should. It always makes me feel better about my own hoarding tendencies. The Mr. is constantly nagging at me about all the crap I have.... and sometimes I do agree, so I've listed below the 5 ways in which I am a hoarder.

1.      I keep cooking utensils I've never used... and probably never will. Candy thermometer anyone? Turkey baster? Wait, the turkey baster could come in handy! bahahah!

2.      I keep hair accessories I have used in the past… When I was in the fifth grade and I wanted to be just like the Spice Girls. I mean, butterfly bobby pins are still cool, right? Anyone?

3.      I own more pairs of boots and shoes than anyone I have met. So much so that I have big plastic tubs filled with them. But, silver sparkly shoes from my sorority formal my sophomore year will make the perfect Halloween costume one day! I just know it!

4.      I keep half empty bottles of products that I hated. You never know when someone wants that sauve shampoo that you’ve used half of.

5.      When we moved I was embarrassed by the amount of boxes that I had filled with crap, so I moved them myself rather than having the movers do it. I still have no clue what are in some of the boxes and I packed them and moved them. #noshameinmyhoardinggame

Do you have any pets? Yes I do, I have two boxers. Their names are Ginger and Tigger aka Ging-Pop and Tig-Tig… Queen G and TigTig Lamar. If you follow me on Instagram you will see lots of pictures of their crazy asses.

Three things that are physically close to you? My office crap. Gotta love work.

What's the weather like right now? Ummm… fucking cold. I live in Kansas, need I say more?

Do you drive? If so, have you crashed? Yes and yes. I am known for driving into houses. If you ask, I’ll totally tell.

What time did you wake up this morning? I get up between 6-6:20 every day. 6 if I am going to attempt a morning workout, 6:20 if I am getting up at my usual time (i.e. lying in bed until 6:40)

When was the last time you showered? I shower every other night. So it was prolly yesterday. I know, I’m dirty.

What was the last movie that you saw? I don’t like movies. But, I do watch the shit outta Lifetime movies, so I watched a marathon of them over the weekend.

What does your last text message say? I don’t want to say, as I was totally making fun of someone’s newborn child. The worst part is that the person I am texting is also preggo, so she is going to wonder whether I am making fun of her newborn child when she spawns it.

What is your ringtone? The t-mobile jingle. I ain’t got time to be changing that shit. That and windows phones suck and don’t do cool things.

Have you ever been to a different country? Ummm. I went on a cruise once. We stopped in Mexico, Honduras, and the Cayman Islands (do those count?). I went to Mexico again this past March. I feel like Mexico is not really another country, as it is connected to my country and everyone goes there. Is that wrong?

Do you like sushi? Fucking love it. The Mister and I eat it as often as possible. I will even eat it off Chinese buffets I heart it that much.

Where do you buy your groceries? Hy-Vee and Sam’s Club. Hy-Vee gives you cents off your gas and has amazeballs sales.

Have you ever taken any medication to help you fall asleep faster? Every night. I have two pills to choose from and generally choose the same one even though it makes me not be able to poo for 3 days.

How many siblings do you have? I have an older brother.

Do you have a desktop computer or a laptop? I have a laptop. We are wanting to buy a desktop though and I am wanting to buy a new laptop for work. Any suggestions?

How old will you be turning on your next birthday? I will be 28 on December 13^th. It is a Friday this year and I was totally born on a Friday.

Do you wear contact lenses or glasses? Both.

Do you colour your hair? Whenever I get the itch to, yes. I am feeling this itch now actually. I really want dark pulled through the bottom with red and honey through the top. If anyone has a pretty picture of this SHOW ME!!!

Something you are planing to do today. Shop online. I plan to do this every day actually. Funny enough, I hardly every buy anything though.

When was the last time you cried? Ummmm… The last time The Mister and I fought. Turns out buying a house together and making extra-large life plans together (i.e. compromise) is hard.

What is your perfect pizza topping? Pepperoni all the way.

Which do you prefer, hamburger or cheeseburger? Cheeseburger with lettuce, pickle, onion, ketchup, and mustard. Yum!

Have you ever had an all-nighter? Hahaha. Yes.

What is your eye colour? They're blue!

Can you taste the difference between Pepsi and Coke? I only drink diet, but yes they do taste different.
