Yummy in My Tummy

I don't know about you , but I loves me some mexican food. I will eat chips and queso, fajitas, tacos any day of the week. Because of this unnatural love, when I received  a free sample of Food Should Taste Good tortilla chips from Bzzagent, I was insanely excited.

I knew immediately that I wanted to try out my Fiesta Nacho Casserole from Good Housekeeping. It was simple, quick, and easy to make all with ingredients I keep in my house. I used the FSTG Jalapeno tortilla chips to give it a little extra oomph. It was delish! The chips stayed crunchy, had a great texture, and added the extra flavor I was hoping for. next time, I will serve with lime slices and extra salsa though, as I needed a little "sauciness".

In case you haven't tried them yet, FSTG chips are gluten free, cholestorol free, have zero trans fat, are certified Kosher, and many of the flavors are certified vegan. The tortilla chips come in more than 15 varieties (I also really, really like the multi-grain, blue corn, and sweet potato) and the sweet potato kettle chips come in four flavors. Yum!

Who Doesn't Love Presents?

This was the first month that I participated in the fabulous Cara Box exchange hosted by Wifessionals. It is an amazing way to get to know fellow bloggers. If you haven't tried it, you def should. I got to know some amazeballs ladies! You are paired with two women, one of whom sends you a gift and the other you send a gift. Who doesn't like getting pretty things?

I was paired with Stayc over at Lacy and Crew, whom I sent a gift.  She is a wife, mother, student, and all around awesome person! She is super creative and has her shiz together in a way I wish I did! Stayc has the most cutest baby Oliver, he is so cute that even if you don't like babies you'd like him. No joke. Stayc blogs about life and everything it entails and is so positive it brightens your day.  You should go check her out and see what awesome shiz I got her :)

I was also paired with Brandi at Life with Collins.  Brandi is Mom to Collins, a beautiful 16 month old girl, lives in Alabama with her hubby, works as a nurse, and has a doggie named Turner. Like me, Brandi loves to thrift shop and upcycle furniture. Go check out her blog, where she has some awesome DIY projects and gives advice on being a momma.

Brandi sent me the most awesome gift ever.
gummi bears, which I had to hide from myself so I wouldn't eat them immediately
socks that will be perfect with boots this fall
purple zoya nail polish
the best measuring spoons and recipe cards for when I am attempting to make healthier recipes
a notebook filled with sticky notes (it's like she knew I have a small obsession with them)
a Bath and Body Works candle that makes you want to roll around in it

I have burned the candle in the kitchen everyday since getting it and The Mister keeps asking what good shit I was cooking. It also made him crave candy, but I wouldn't share my coveted stash of gummis for anything.

Boobies and Balls

I don't know about you, but I loves me some baseball. Shout out to Jen for getting us some REALLY good tickets to the Royals on Thursday night. We tailgated, where we had no screw driver to put together the grill, so the Mister MacGyver'd that shit. Jen and I trying to be all like Girl Scout style made sure we had food and beer. When we got there, I asked Jen for a beer and she looks at me and says, “It’s in the cooler.” I look at her and slowly say, “No, it isn’t.” #epictailgatefail It was a good thing our fourth had brought some beers too and was willing to share. Will I buy PBR? No. Will I drink it for free? Yes.

We go into the game and as we are walking to our seat people are yelling and flailing about. Me? I think nothing of this and continue on my merry way while Jen and The Mister both duck.  A foul ball flew right in front of me, bounced of the wall, and landed smack in my left side boob. I CAUGHT A BALL WITH MY BOOB! Without spilling my beer.  My classy ass then proceeds to yell “I caught it bitches!!!” #keepingitclassy

The rest of the game was par for the course. Except for us sitting next to scouts and trying to figure out who they were scouting. Why wouldn’t they just tell Jen?! She was really nice when she went up to them and asked.  I want to know! I need to know!

Saturday, Jen and I went to a signing event and I got my foul ball signed by Billy Butler, the designated hitter, and Jen got a Billy bobblehead signed. Now, I need to frame my ball and it will be a story I tell forevs. My boobie caught a ball.

What fun sports stories do you have? Tell me, I want to hear ‘em! Oh, and if you don't follow me on Instagram you totes should I post pics of my adventures as they happen IRL :)

Will Work For Beer

There has been a lot going on in the new home. We have painted all of the rooms in the house, except the kitchen as that will be getting its own makeover later.
Now, the men are hard at work finishing a room in the garage to become our AT HOME GYM! Just what my lazy ass needs! The Mister and I have always owned work out equipment; we just never really had a proper spot for it. When we bought our house an important feature was the ability to make a gym. There was a 12x12 unfinished storage area, so we decided it would be the perfect room to make a gym!

My dad is amazeballs at doing shit like this, so we can do it on the cheap. Meaning cost of supplies (with Pops' discount) and beer/food. My kind of cheap labor. The boys have been hard at work on this shiz for the past 2 weekends and the room is REALLY coming along fast. In the end, it will have linoleum floors (so it don't stink like sweat), a window with an a/c unit, and a door. We could rent this shit out.

During the excavation process the boys found this super cool historical item. It is an invitation to the Harry Truman (you know, the president) Commendation Awards Dinner. It was in the original mailing envelope and all the papers were still in there! It is honoring General Lucius Clay for his heroic acts in WWII. Since we live close to the Harry Truman Presidential Library, I have a call into them to see what we should do with it.

Have you ever renovated/remodeled and found something cool? Let me know! I feel like I should be on Antique Roadshow or the History Channel J

Jowler Creek

Me and my homies went to a winery on Saturday! It was tons of fun. We went to Jowler Creek in PLatte City, Mo. It was my very first winery tour ever, so I was so excited I had ants in my pants. Good thing I wasn't wearing pants.

On the way there our preggo DD had to make a quick pitstop, where girl was so focused on Arby's that we almost died in traffic. That would have been a travesty, as we had yet to cosume any wine. #fetusfoodstop

I don't know if you knew this shit, because I totally didn't, but there are mowing sheep! They go around eating grass so that your man friend doesn't have to mow! They smell like ass, but apparently get the job done.  They also have chickens that eat all the nasty ass bugs of your good as wine grapes. These chickens were not for playing though, as they kept running from me. I think they knew I had dreams of fried chicken in my head.

Jowler Creek has a beautiful sitting area/patio where you can take the wine you've bought. If you're Lucy and preggo this is torture as you drink water while everyone has glasses of wine #fetusproblems

Have you been on a winery tour before? Where did you go? I loved Jowler Creek!

August Birch Box

August Birch Box

This will be my last Birch Box. I just prefer ipsy to BB. First, I prefer more makeup products than lifestyle products. Second, I find the brands to be more accessible with ipsy. Third, I know people who also get ipsy and I can totally do a tradsies with them on products we don't want/need. Speaking of that anyone want the It's a 10 Leave in Conditioner? I don't use leave in cond because it makes my fine hair feel greasy by the end of the day.

Here is what I got this month

Evens out skin tone, has antiaging benefits, and gives you broad spectrum protection. I can't wait to use this. So far, I have enjoyed BB creams, but haven't found the "perfect" one for me.
Alcohol free towelettes that cleanse and soften with vitamin E, peppermint, and aloe. These are for the feet. Meh. At least your feet won't stink?
A streak free self-tanning wipe for fair to medium tans. I do use self-tanners, so I will try this the next go round to see how well it works on my dry skin.
A semi-matte lipstick that delivers both hydration and lasting pigment. I got this in Kitty and LOVE IT! Makes your lips feel soft and the color is subtle and beautiful!
A 10-in-one treatment that addresses the spectrum of hair damage, from brittleness to frizz. I won't use this since leave in products with this consistency make my hair greasy towards the end of the day.

Liebster Award!

 photo Liebster-Award_zpsb3cc1b33.gif
The Rulebook:
1) Thank and link back to the blogger who presented you with the award.

2) Answer the 11 facts about yourself.
3) Answer the 11 questions you were asked.
4) Write 11 questions for your nominees.
5) Present/nominate a Liebster award to 3-5 other bloggers with less than 200 followers.

This was way harder than I thought it would be! I really had to think about 11 rando things that I know nobody really cares to ask me, but that I feel like I should share :) You know, just to get to know each other.

So here we go.....

11 Facts About Me

 1.     I am a junk food fiend. I love salty, sweet, crunchy, chewy. I frequently will go into a store just to buy gummi bears.

2.     I only workout so that I can drink all the wine and beer I want. Do I like all the side effects and fringe benefits of working out? Yes. But my end goal is to look like a sexy beast while being a wino.

3.     I have a super fat face. No matter what I do, my chubby cheeks always interfere with my cuteness in pictures!

4.     I never needed to be married--- that is one of the ways The Mister and I connected. Neither one of us felt like marriage was a must have for a successful relationship and partnership.

5.     I am very open with people I am comfortable around! With these people, I really don’t feel like there is such a thing as TMI :)  Even when in public.

6.     I am creative in ideas and spirit, but not crafty or artsy enough to make things look like what I imagine. But I sure can tell people what I want done!

7.     I love sushi. Love sushi. My favorite place has a sushi train! It is the best date night, but a def splurge for us.

8.     I pretty much never leave the house without some form of makeup on. If nothing else, concealer (if possible with tinted moisturizer) and mascara.

9.     If there is a movie or pop culture reference made, I probably won’t get it. I don’t really remember things too well…

10.  …. And I don’t really like to watch movies or tv series because they take too long. I don’t like sitting for 2 hours to watch a movie and I don’t like having to wait a week in-between shows.

11.  I am super impatient if you can’t tell from number 10.

I need to say THANK YOU to Stayc at http://www.lacyandcrew.com/ for nomintaing me. Thanks, girl! Here are the questions that she asked....

1. What is your favorite beverage? I hearts me some Diet Mountain Dew, to the point that I drink off brand. No jokes, Hy-Vee Diet Mountain Lightening is legit.

2. Chocolate or vanilla? I don’t like chocolate cake or frosting, but love brownies J I love chocolate ice cream with brownies in it (i.e. Ben and Jerry’s), but I prefer vanilla ice cream if eating it plain.

3. What are your favorite seasonal fall activities? I love sitting on the back patio with a fire going and playing in the leaves with my fur babies. I really like going to the pumpkin patch and petting zoo with the kids I work with. Those are the best fall field trips!

4. How many siblings do you have? I have an older brother.

5. Why did you start blogging? I started blogging to meet the people that I had creeped on J I totally read blogs and never commented because I thought it would be weird.

7. What is one of your hobbies? I love to read cheesy romance novels, watch reality TV, hang out with my boxers, play one specific video game with my boo, go to happy hour with my girlfriends, drink wine with my girlfriends, and shop.

8. What is your favorite T.V. Show? Pretty much anything reality based. I used to love the Real World before it got all STD ridden, so not that though.

10. Do you like sports? If so, who is your favorite sports team? I LOVE THE ROYALS! My friend Jen and I usually buy an 11 or 15 game pack, but this season we were both too busy L My goal is to be able to buy season tickets!

Back to Reality

 photo tumblr_mr4np8Aa751rqu3aso1_500_zpsfe7cd6bf.gif

This is how I feel about going to work right now.
Since I can't be like my idol Betty, I just made a deliberate choose not to shower the past two days so that I could sleep in an extra forty minutes. I just did a whore bath and dry shampooed my hair. Judge me all you want, I still smelled passably presentable. And by presentable, I mean thank god it was an office day with no kids so I had limited interaction with people who actually washed their hair.

And for those of you haters who say it's only day three suck it up asshole, you had the summer off. I say being this awesome is hard. Prolly not as hard as being a Realhouswife, but still hard. I mean I worked three days this week! I am so glad it's Friday! #firstworldproblems #idontcare

I got my eye on the prize though. Soon it will be payday and I will be rolling in boxed wine, Miller Light, and buying all the junk food I want. Oh, that's just me being all PMSy, I won't really do that. I'll just go to a strip club and make it rain on a hoe.

Summer, summer, summertime

Summer, summer, summertime
Time to sit back and unwind....

Oh, why is summer gone? I've been a little MIA lately. Buying the house, moving, painting, and now I am back to work. BOOM! Summer's all over! I will definitely have some before and afters of the house up soon! We have been hard at work!

How I felt on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

How I felt yesterday, the first day back. Man, I wish I didn't need a paycheck.

What are your fun plans for the rest of the warm weather season? Trips? Weekend getaways?

Who Let the Dogs Out?

What do you do when you just move into your brand hew house and your dog has already made enemies with all the neighbors he has come into contact with? Last week, Tigger hops the fence to go two doors down and make friends over there. That lady very politely told me that it would be best if my dog didn't come into her yard. So, we rapidly put up Tigger's electronic fence on Thursday. This morning, while I am blissfully attempting to sleep through The Mister getting ready for work, he comes yelling at me. Me?! What did I do?! The Mister had let the dogs out while showering and was going to leave for work and I was supposed to let them in. Instead, as he is pulling out of the garage he sees the lady next door to us in her robe beating at Tigger with a spade. Apparently, her granddogs were over and Tigger went to make friends. Unfortunately, they didn't make friends and instead some Michael Vick action commenced to go down. The Mister proceeds to tell me neighbor lady is panicking and I should go talk to her. So, I put on my robe and peek outside, asking what do I say/do? We fucked up leaving the dogs out totally unsupervised in a new place. My bad. Yeah, we told you about the electric fence, but deliberately didn't mention that Tigger powers through it when he feels like it. My bad. Awww, shit. I don't forsee us getting a welcome to the neighborhood from anyone anytime soon.
